TONY BLAIR, RICK WARREN & THE NEW WORLD RELIGION

The Tony Blair faith foundation continues its global ambitions, insisting that they are not trying to “change” the fundamentals of anyone’s faith, only to encourage people of different faiths to have dialogue and promote charity.

Now, as part of its program, the foundation’s website invites people to sign a “declaration” which involves the following words:

“I commit to working together with people of all faiths to fight against disease and poverty.  Together we will demonstrate religion as a force for good in today’s world.”

But is this a godly endeavor?  Or a Trojan horse designed to deceive mankind into a one world religion?  And is this “declaration” from Blair’s faith foundation a model for a future oath of allegiance that all men will be required to take during the worldwide reign of Antichrist?   Some will remember the chilling words of occult author, David Spangler in his book, “Reflections on the Christ,” in which he wrote:

“… the Luciferic initiation … is one that many people now, and in the
days ahead will be facing, for it is an initiation into the New Age.”
(Source: “Reflections on the Christ,” Spangler, p. 45)

It is entirely New Age doctrine to promote the unification of all religions.  It is worth noting that it was a Jesuit priest, Teilhard de Chardin, who was known as “the father of the New Age” according to Dave Hunt and T.A. McMahon in their book, The Seduction of Christianity (p. 77).  Chardin’s writings were a major influence on Vatican II, which launched global ecumenism in the 20th century.

In an earlier newsletter, we reported how the Vatican’s influence on Tony Blair most likely played a part in his new direction in life.  While serving as Prime Minister of England, he was attending Catholic mass; and during a 2006 trip to the Vatican spoke privately with the pope “about the challenges of globalization and the importance of dialogue between the faiths …” (BBC News/UK, “Blair Audience with Pope Benedict,” Sat. 3 June, 2006)

We also linked Blair and the Vatican with Rick Warren, who joined Blair’s Interfaith Council earlier this year (2009).  The Washington Post, in an article titled, “Rick Warren, Interfaith Activist,” called Warren “our new Billy Graham … a visionary leader engaging all possible partners in his plan to transform earth.” (Washington Post, Sept. 29, 2008, “Rick Warren, Interfaith Activist” by Eboo Patel)

THE VATICAN’S “EMERGING” AGENDA

We find it very interesting that the word “EMERGING” appears in the Emerging Church movement here in America, and that it was also used by English Conservative politician, Adrian Hilton in his book, “The Principality & Power of Europe: Britain and the Emerging Holy European Empire.”  Hilton was reportedly driven out of European politics for his strong stand against the Vatican.  Nevertheless, the information he puts forth in his book was endorsed by leading voices in Britain, including the former Speaker of the House of Commons, Lord Tonypandy.  In this book, Hilton writes:

“Since World War II, each Pope has thrown his weight behind moves
toward the creation of a supra-national European union.  Pope John XXIII
insisted that Roman Catholics should be ‘in the front ranks’ of the
unification effort.” (Adrian Hilton, “The Principality and Power of
Europe,” p. 34)

We sincerely believe that Christians in America should pay close attention to what’s happening in Europe, since the same pattern of political and religious events are likewise happening here in the U.S.  The North American Union is the sister of the European Union, and will likely occur in much the same way.  When we were filming in England last year, one of the curators at the British Library told us that the EU was initially presented to promote “free trade,” not unlike NAFTA in the U.S.  And how did this free trade concept begin in Europe?

“The Treaty of Rome, signed in 1957, brought the European Economic
Community (EEC) into being, with the initial goal of removing trade and
economic barriers between member states and unifying their economic
policies.” (Hilton, “The Principality and Power of Europe” p. 22)

On the issue of “spiritual unity” Adrian Hilton writes:

“The Pope’s call for spiritual unity are echoed by leading politicians
all over Europe, especially those allied to the Vatican’s political wing,
the so-called Christian Democratic parties.” (Ibid, p. 35)

The influence of Rome in the Emerging Church is recognized by former Catholic priest, Richard Bennett, who is sounding the alarm to Christians.  He says plainly:

“… the Papacy, as ever, is seeking to secure visible outward
conformity through the compromise of others.  This is the larger
context into which the Emergent Church is set.”  (Richard Bennett,
former Catholic priest, “The Emergent Church Movement”)

Bennett goes on to describe the methods of Emergent leader, Brian McLaren.  He writes:

“Leaning heavily on Roman Catholic writers … McLaren has written
a book entitled A Generous Orthodoxy.  Here he moves … to present
what he thinks is a whole new method of knowing Christian truth, i.e.
through Eastern mysticism.  But to sell this mindset to Protestants with
their memory verses intact and their Bibles in hand, his approach to
them is pitched on a strongly subjective level.  This subtle tactic is part
of the methodology of ecumenism spelled out in 1970 in Post Vatican
Council II documents.” (Ibid, Bennett, same as above)

It is our observation that what Richard Bennett is describing is the ongoing Counter Reformation which began in 1540, and which is a major topic of discussion in our new documentary, “A Lamp in the Dark: The Untold History of the Bible.”

Until believers understand the real history of Rome, the Bible, and Protestant Christianity, it is nearly impossible for them to comprehend what is happening in churches and the world today.  The history of the last 1000 years will directly impact the next 5 years.  As many authors, like Dave Hunt and Roger Oakland have noted, Rome has not changed her agenda in all these centuries.  She has only modified her tactics to adapt to the modern world.

TONY BLAIR: THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF EUROPE?

Now, there is the possibility that Blair’s career may take a very sharp turn.  It is strongly suggested that he might become the very first president of the European Union.  This article from the UK’s Telegraph asks, “Will Tony Blair become the First President of Europe?”  The article opens with these words:

“Tony Blair was on his knees on Sunday, deep in thought, in the pews of the Roman Catholic church at Great Missenden where he worshipped when he was at Chequers. As prayers were offered up for Pope Benedict and world peace, the former Prime Minister may well have had his thoughts focused on subjects closer to his own heart.” (Source: Telegraph.co.uk, October 26, 2009)

Of course, this sort of news doesn’t normally make its way into the American press.  But as we said before, we truly believe Americans (and especially Christians) should pay attention to what’s happening in Europe.  For centuries, Bible scholars have believed that the kingdom of Antichrist would be a revised Roman empire.  Retired professor, based in the U.K., Dr. Alan O’Reilly calls the European Union “a Vatican project,” and an “ongoing Counter Reformation tactic.”

THE VATICAN WOOS ANGLICANS BACK TO ROME

“In these times, when liberality is the only popular virtue,
and zeal for truth the cardinal sin, it is worth much to let the
public know assuredly that Popery is not the angel of light it
professes to be … the superstition of Rome is the worst of
all the evils which have befallen our race; may the Lord arise,
and sweep it down to hell from whence it arose.”
– Charles H. Spurgeon, English Protestant Preacher,
The Sword and the Trowel, Jan. 1873

A recent article from the UK’s Guardian says Pope Benedict has opened “a new front” in the “battle” to bring the Church of England back to Rome.  A little more than a century ago, Charles H. Spurgeon (the “Prince of Preachers”) warned that “Popery is not the angel of light it professes to be,” yet now, an Anglican parishioner in England says, “We hope we can all come together and be looked after by the bishop of Rome.”  The read the article by The Guardian, click here.

TIME Magazine reports that the Pope is inviting unhappy Anglicans to convert back to Rome, as the Vatican loosens the requirements for priesthood to accommodate them.  To read the article from TIME, click here.

Sunday, Oct. 25, the Guardian UK reported on the impact the Pope’s offer (he’s been cited saying “whole parish’s can defect” to the Vatican) has had on certain members of the Anglican Church.  Incredibly, they seem to have little or no knowledge of either history or the doctrines of Rome.  The Guardian quoted one parishioner:
"I've been a member of this congregation for years and this is exciting news, it's really hopeful for us," said Rachel Graham, a parishioner at St Augustine's in Kilburn. "We appreciate that we are able to have worshipful integrity here. When this church was built there was a hope for unity with Rome. We're not here by mistake."

ENGLISH PROTESTANTISM: THE LAST STRONGHOLD?

The Vatican has always viewed England as the greatest fortress of true Protestantism.  The word Protestant originally referred to those who protested the claims of the Papacy and the Roman Church.  In 1859, the famed Cardinal Manning said:

“England is the head of Protestantism, the centre of its movements and the stronghold of its power …. Conquered in England, it is conquered throughout the world.” (Cardinal Manning, as cited by Albert Close, “Jesuit Plots from Elizabethan to Modern Times”)

As a country, England was the most successful at casting off the yoke of popery, because of its translation of the Bible into English, and it’s God given military might to resist the invasion of papal armies.

For more than 200 years, Rome has been chipping away at the Anglican Church of England, in repeated attempts to subvert it.  The Oxford Movement of the 19th century was the “Emerging Church” movement of its era.  If believers knew the warnings of prophecy and of all history, they would not be deceived by Romanism in the modern world.

HAS THE PAPACY REALLY CHANGED?

The man known by Christians for a thousand years as “the Antichrist” was welcomed to the United States with great celebration.  Yet while he was here, the pope subtly revealed the true nature of the beast he represents.  Pope Benedict spent time praying inside St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, before a shrine dedicated to the French king known as “Saint Louis IX.”  And who is St. Louis?  The only French king to be sainted by Rome, who is especially known for extending the Papal Inquisition of the 13th century to all of France.  His action enabled the Dominicans and papal soldiers to persecute and kill Christians at an expanded level.  That the pope would specifically choose this shrine to pray at is little surprise to those who have followed the actions of the papacy through the 20th century.

The popes have repeatedly “sainted” and “beautified” the Catholic murderers of the ancient world, declaring them to be “martyrs” for the Roman faith.  In fact, the two popes who founded the Inquisition (Innocent III and Gregory IX) are featured inside the U.S. Capitol among the great lawgivers of history.

ROME & EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANITY

It is a serious problem, one we encounter continually, that believers in America are woefully ignorant of history and the true nature of Roman Catholicism.  Because of this, evangelicals often say, “Oh, I have Catholic friends who love Jesus and I’m sure they’re real believers.”  Of course, if you ask one of their Catholic friends if they are Christian, they will usually respond, “No, I’m Catholic.”

More importantly, if you were to say to one of these Catholics, “Friend, if you die tonight, what do you think will happen?  Will you go to heaven or to hell?”  Their response will tell you what they’re trusting in.  Most Catholics will almost never answer, “I believe I will go to heaven because of my faith in Jesus Christ.”  Instead, what you will likely hear is a bundle of uncertainty, a review of what good or bad things the person has done, and the vague speculation that if they have been good enough, and if they haven’t done anything too terribly wrong, then they think they should probably go to heaven.  Such is the insecurity inspired by Rome.

Friends, this writer was raised Catholic.  I know how Catholics think.  I still have family members who are Catholic.  I’m not writing these things to accuse my believing brethren, but to admonish them to reconsider their politically correct but biblically inaccurate view of Catholicism.

If we really love our Catholic friends and family members, we must earnestly examine the religion of Rome.  We must ask why the Reformers (most of whom began as Catholic priests) came to shun it as the work of the devil, and saw the so-called “Chair of Peter” as the very throne of Satan. Yes, we are saved by God’s grace through faith -- but what is the faith of Rome?

SALVATION: THE REAL ISSUE

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” – Acts 2:21

“Into this fold of Jesus Christ, no man may enter unless he be led by the Sovereign Pontiff; and only if they be united to him can men be saved, for the Roman Pontiff is the Vicar of Christ and His personal representative on earth.” – Pope John XXIII, coronation homily, November 4, 1958.

“He (the Pope) stands across the sunshine of God’s love, and casts upon the trembling human spirit a deadly shade.  He claims to have the keys of heaven and hell.  He thunders lying anathemas, and forbids mankind to approach the throne of infinite mercy save through him …” (H. Grattan Guinness, 19th century preacher, “Romanism & the Reformation,” p. 224)

Christians in our country are in desperate need of understanding that the salvation of Rome is not the salvation of Jesus Christ.  We need to consider that to leave loved ones in a state of believing lies can only keep them dead in their sins, trusting in a system designed by the devil to bring forth destruction.  In centuries past, the Reformers understood this clearly.  This is why Charles Spurgeon declared, “no peace with Rome,” and warned that “the masterpiece of Satan is popery.”

Jesus said to Saul of Tarsus, “I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness … to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God …” (Acts 26:16, 18)

Notice, that the Lord let Saul know right from the beginning what he was up against; that he would be battling against the forces of hell to deliver men to the truth.

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26)  With this, Paul wrote: “For by grace are ye saved through faith … not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

In contrast, Rome teaches that without the pope, the sacraments, the Virgin Mary, and a host of other things, YOU CANNOT BE SAVED.  Let us say it again: according to Rome, without its papal system of works-righteousness, you have no hope of salvation and will be damned to hell forever.  Rome gives men no middle ground.  According to Catholic doctrine, there is NO SALVATION outside the Church of Rome.  This is testified to by the most up to date declarations from the Roman Church, which can be found in Vatican Council II.  The declarations of Vatican II are very wily and deceptive. Most people do not realize that this document, while putting forth the notion of “ecumenical toleration,” also confirms the former councils of Rome.

“This sacred council … reiterates the decrees of the Second Council of Nicea, the Council of Florence, and the Council of Trent.” (Vatican Council II: Constitutions, Decrees, Declarations, p. 77)

The most notorious of these councils is Trent, which was specifically designed to refute the teachings of the Reformers, and to reject the notion that men are saved by grace alone through faith in Christ alone.  Anyone who believes this is “anathematized” or accursed according to Trent and Vatican II.

“If anyone says that the sinner is justified by faith alone, meaning that nothing else is required to cooperate in order to obtain the grace of justification … let him be anathema.” (Council of Trent, Sixth Session, Canon 9)

“If anyone says that justifying faith is nothing else than confidence in divine mercy, which remits sins for Christ’s sake, or that it is this confidence alone that justifies us, let him be anathema.” (Council of Trent, Sixth Session, Canon 12)

“... not by works of righteousness which we
have done, but according to His mercy, He saved
us … that being justified by His grace, we should
be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
(Titus 3:5, 7)

The Emerging Church Series

- DVD 4 Part Set $49.95

Roger Oakland has given a series of presentations on the Emerging Church movement, explaining in detail its influence on the churches in America.  The four part series is explained as follows:

Part One: “Man’s Spiritual Journey”

Description: Throughout biblical history, Satan, the god of this world, has had a plan to deceive man. When man turns away from God and His Word, he will first begin to trust in his own reasoning and then turn to the gods (the fallen spiritual realm).

In The Emerging Church-Part One: Man's Spiritual Journey, Past, Present and Future, Roger Oakland presents documentation to show that Satan's three-legged stool plan, which was introduced at the Tower of Babel, is being reintroduced today. This plan is setting the world up for a one-world government, a one-world economy and a one-world religion just as Bible prophecy reveals will take place in the last days.

Part Two: “Road to Rome”

Description: According to Emerging Church proponents, the present postmodern generation can only be enticed to embrace Christianity through experiences and ideas which stimulate the senses. The experiences they recommend seem to be the same ones that Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches have always provided.

In The Emerging Church-Road to Rome, Roger Oakland presents documentation to show that many worshippers are being drawn into the Roman Catholic New Evangelization program without being aware of it. Icons, incense, candles, sacraments and images are preparing the way for the revelation of the Roman Catholic Eucharistic Christ.

Part Three: “Road to Babylon”

Description: Central to the emerging church is the idea that one can get closer to God through contemplative mystical practices that are rooted in an experience-based eastern (remove mystical - redundant) religious spirituality. These practices have been introduced to both mainstream and evangelical Christianity through Roman Catholic monks and priests who promote what they call spiritual disciplines (which were originally practiced20by mystics and the Desert Monks of the third century).

In The Emerging Church- Road to Babylon, Roger Oakland addresses this fast growing emerging church movement, showing how it is seducing this generation and leading it toward a false one world religious system and a utopian kingdom of God that emerging proponents say will be established here on earth by human effort.

Part Four: “Proclaiming the Gospel in the Midst of Last Days Apostasy”

Description: Bible prophecy indicates that the last days before Jesus Christ returns will be characterized by a time of great deception. Based on current trends, it appears that the one world government, the one world economy and the one world religion predicted could soon be here. However, in the midst of this scenario, God is calling Bible-believing Christians to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ as our only hope to the whole world.

In The Emerging Church - Proclaiming the Gospel in the Midst of Last Days Apostasy, Roger provides the documentation to show we are living at the very time that the last days spiritual "strong delusion" is underway. While documenting the dangers and pi tfalls of the purpose-driven, emerging, and contemplative Christianity, Roger encourages Bible believing Christians to boldly stand for the truth and to be witnesses for Jesus Christ.
